Research is focused to the study of climate fluctuations (mainly temperature and precipitation) in the Czech Republic based on documentary evidence, dendroclimatic data, early instrumental measurements and regular meteorological observations during the last millennium. Another field of study is the reconstruction and the study of selected hydrological and meteorological extremes from the viewpoint of their frequency of occurrence, seasonality, intensity and impacts to nature and society.
