CzechGlobe excursion

3 Jun 2025

On Monday, May 19, 2025, students of the Czech and English programs participated in an excursion to the The Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CzechGlobe). The aim of the excursion, conducted in English, was to familiarize our students with remote sensing methods, the impact of current climate change on temperatures in cities, and the possibilities of reducing the urban heat island effect. In addition, students had the opportunity to view the CzechGlobe infrastructure, enjoy the view of Brno from the roof, or measure the wavelengths of a number of objects in the darkroom.

A big thank you goes to all participants of the excursion, as well as to the CzechGlobe employees who introduced the students to research at CzechGlobe and guided them through the institution.
