Memorandum of Understanding Opens New Opportunities for Cooperation

As part of a business mission program with President Petr Pavel, a general Memorandum of Understanding was signed during an official state dinner between the Chilean Antarctic Institute (INACH) and the Czech Antarctic Research Programme (CARP), coordinated by the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University. The memorandum confirms the mutual interest of both parties in developing joint research in Antarctica, sharing infrastructure and scientific capacities, and supporting international cooperation in polar research.

Return of Czech scientists from Antarctica: Expedition brings valuable data and samples

Scientists from the Antarctic expedition will return to the Czech Republic on Friday, March 20. They are expected to arrive at 7 p.m. at the Janáček Theatre in Brno. The main part of the MENDEL expedition continued not only in climate monitoring and tracking changes in glaciers, permafrost, and other ecosystems, but also in a range of additional research activities.

EuroCarto 2026 conference opens for submissions

The EuroCarto conference will take place at Masaryk University on September 9-11, 2026. The conference has started accepting contributions. Contributions can be sent until April 1, 2026.
